Google is here to help again,this time with a software that will considerably increase your surfing speed and save you a lot of time.

Google Web Accelerator is a FREE application developed by Google that speeds up web browsing by pre-fetching and caching the sites you visit often,which leads to a faster page load for those with high speed connections (DSL or Cable). Dial up speeds are improved only marginally.This tool has a little indicator that keeps you informed on the total web browsing time it has saved you. It does not cache/store any sensitive data that uses the HTTPS protocol - effectively meaning that your internet banking transactions are safe and never stored on a Google server.

But there is also a little cach to this.For accelerating internet speed google keeps a check of our browsing habits,that is it keeps a record of the sites we visit often.But they do state that they won’t sell sensitive information.Anyways the google search that we use everyday also tracks our search results(if you didnt know that yes it does).So this is not of much concern.

Industrial Trip to Panipat Rerinery...

Saturday...11th of november....was a big day for me...as i went to an industrial trip to Panipat refinary, the 7th refinery of Indian Oil, designed for processing both indigeneous and imported crude.....it was HUGE !!!.....and engineering excellence....Pipelines all around...strict safety measure and boilers with loooong chimneys....it was a big place ...

So after the proper checking and initial safety guidelines...we went to see the refinery and all the units around in a bus........yeah... it was extended in a big area....so can't visit it without a bus or cab......all the facts n figures being told wer juss amazing....the refinery produces about 7 lakh tonnes of petrol annually, 27 lakh tonnes of diesel, 5 lakh tonnes of kerosene, 3 lakh tonnes of ATF and 2 lakh tonnes of coooking gas.......now u see...... how big it is...it recieves crude oil from vadinar in gujarat coast to panipat through a 1340 km long pipeline....
other products include Naptha, Mineral Turpentine oil,Bitumen, Sulphur etc....these products are transported to environment-friendly pipelines,Rail and Road..Refinery meets the demand of petroleum products of haryan,punjab,J&k, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Western UP and part of Rajastan n Delhi..

1. Atmospheric & Vaccum Distillation Unit (AVU)
2. Continuous Catalytic Reforming Unit (CCRU)
3. Hydrocracker Unit (HCU)
4. Hydrogen Generation Unit (HGU)
5. Resid Fluidised Catalytic Cracking unit (RFCCU)
6. Visbreaker Unit (VBU)......and 5-6 other units...

One astoninshing fact as told by our instructor.......... all the boilers and other big components, when brought in the refinery with the help of 650 tonne crane, the road has to be rebuilt again for further use....it completely destroys it........GOD !!!!

Access blocked websites !!!!

Websites which have been blocked in many countries can be accessed.Here are some tricks that might help :

1.Proxy server :Use a proxy server to access restricted sites.A proxy server (or proxies) is a normal computer that hides the identity of computers on its network from the Internet. Which means that only the address of the proxy server is visible to the world and not of those computers that are using it to browse the Internet. Just visit the proxy server website with your Web browser and enter a URL (website address) in the form provided.

Just click on this link and it will take you to a page having a long list of proxies.You can either choose one yourself or let the service choose a random proxy for you.You can now visit any site with these proxy servers.
Also bookmark the DMOZ directory of free web-based proxy services and DMOZ directory of free proxy servers .

2.Use softwares for getting proxies:There are several softwares available for using proxies.Just search on google to get an endless list.
One of them is Hide ip platinum.Get it at http://rapidshare.de/files/35879852/HideIPPlatinum_3.2.rar.html

3.Convert ip to decimal:The third trick may work at some places and wont at others.This is a lesser known trick i came across recently.Suppose you want to access www.orkut.com.

Go to start->run type cmd.
Now type ping www.orkut.com (space between ping and www)
You will get an ip address for www.orkut.com,note it down.
Now go to http://www.allredroster.com/iptodec.htm
Enter the ip in the enter ip address field and press calculate.You will get an address in Decimal field.This is it.Copy this address and type it in your browser,if lucky www.orkut.com or any other blocked site for which you do this should open.

For example,for orkut you get the decimal address as http://1208930645
